Explore the fascinating world of encaustic art in this open studio session with artist Elaine Morcombe. Participants will learn how to transfer images onto a board using encaustic wax, an ancient technique that involves layering and manipulating wax to create unique textures and effects. This hands-on workshop is a perfect opportunity for children to experiment with new artistic techniques while creating vibrant artwork.
All materials are provided. Participants should wear clothes suitable for crafting and must wear closed-in shoes. We recommend to send them with a labelled water bottle.
All our tutors have Working With Children Checks, allowing you to drop off your child confidently or to stay and join in the fun.
PARENTS PLEASE NOTE: This workshop involves the safe handling of hot wax under the supervision of Elaine, a very experienced wax artist and tutor. Please consider this when deciding whether to book this workshop.
