WEBBED JOURNEY WITH LEA

'What do walking, weaving, observing, storytelling, singing, drawing, and writing have in common? The answer is that they all proceed along lines.' Tim Ingold

We live in a world where everyone and everything is interconnected, woven together by lines. To Lea, webbing is an emotional journey—a doorway to explore overlapping parallel universes that unfold between her fingertips, an escape into the realm of imagination. Within the span of a single thread, each breath, each vibration, each intertwining signifies new possibilities. In this workshop, explore the elements of a web, learn basic knots, and the importance of tension. From there, create your webbed journey by branching and splitting, layering and pathing to create an installation within a frame. Lea is a theatre practitioner and artivist from China who enjoys interdisciplinary collaborations and facilitating workshops.

Materials supplied, welcome to bring your own frame (frame A4 size rectangle/square or embroidery hoop) and yarns/string.
